Fake sets! Update on what not to get.

Fake sets! Update on what not to get.

So as we all know there are fake pole sets in circulation that have snapped while being used causing serious permanent injury to the polers involved. In Australia the laws make it quite easy for coutnerfeit pole sellers to sell online through eBay, Gumtree, Living Social, Groupon etc. Whilst most of these organisations will respond when notified about fakes - all they generally do is take down the listing - leaving people that have unwittingly bought a counterfeit set still using their pole at home.

How can you tell if your pole is real? Well these days it's getting easier. If your pole was bought from one of our resellers or from us, then it's 99% likely to be genuine. Especially if it's an X-Joint model. If your pole is new but it screws together, or has a 'tearshaped' dome, or black rubber - then its very, very likely to be counterfeit. We do not consider fake poles to be safe as they have skipped many of the key safety features inherent to the X-POLE design.

Counterfeit sellers are only stopped when we as trademark holders take them to Federal Court and sue them. We are doing this, seller by seller - but it takes a huge amount of time & money.

If you think you have purchased a fake set - if it came with our DVD featuring Katie Coates - or an instruction manual that looks like ours or has pictures of Katie or Jamilla Deville - then you can contact us for confirmation.
Stay safe polers.

If your friend is looking to buy a pole - or your partner is considering one as a pressie - make sure they contact an authorized X-POLE seller within Australia. Sets from outside AUS may be fake and are not covered by local warranty.

As the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Put your safety first!
